Telemecanique Inductive Sensors and Capacitive Sensors

The Telemecanique range of inductive and capacitive sensors are reknowned for being high-quality and extremely resilient to harsh environmental conditions. For detecting metal objects up to 60mm, the Telemecanique range of inductive sensors feature the latest in high performance technology. For non-contact detection of any other type of material up to 20mm, the capacitive sensors match that same top level of performance. Comes in two ranges:

  • Inductive proximity sensors - XS range: Detection of metal objects upto 60mm. Comes in flush and non-flush versions with additional shielded and non-shielded options, short and long body versions, PNP and NPN versions to be compatible with all PLCs and controllers worldwide. 2 wires DC, AC, or AC/DC versions are also available to be installed in required application as a limit switch.
  • Capacitive proximity sensors - XT range: Non-contact detection of any material up to 20mm irrespective of material or conductivity.
  • Available in a wide range of specifications:
    • Standard cylindrical forms: M8, M12, M18, M30 short and long bodies
    • Standard cubic, rectangular and flat forms

Telemecanique Standard Limit Switches

Telemecanique are market leaders in sensors, offering a wide range of IEC limit switches designed for easy product selection, installation and maintenance. The series comes in four ranges:

  • Compact range for light to medium duty applications
    • European standard products (CENELEC EN50047) have positive opening contacts, even in snap action versions which allow use in safety applications
    • XCKP/T/D variable composition ranges offer the advantages of a metal head, high performance and world-wide availability through distribution
    • XCKN monolithic plastic version is dedicated to repetitive machines
  • Classic range: Historical Telemecanique formats very popular worldwide
    • XCKM (3 cable entries) and XCKL (1 cable entry) are a good and improved choice for multipurpose medium duty metal body products
    • XCKS Plastic, format CENELEC EN50041
    • XCKW, wireless and battery-less plastic limit switch, CENELEC EN50041 format
  • Miniature range: Robust products in a small size format
    • Ideal for harsh environment machines with space constraints

Telemecanique certified sensors for explosive dust environments

The Telemecanique Sensors line of hazardous dust atmosphere sensors are compliant with the global international standard IECEx and the latest European ATEX directive. Choosing a Telemecanique sensor for hazardous dust machine applications ensures that the sensor has been tested and certified to perform in a manner compliant with prominent, established safety standards.

ATEX (defined by AT: atmosphere and EX: explosive), IECEx and NEC 506 all use the same protection concept called the Zone system. The Zone defines the probability of the hazardous material (dust) being present in sufficient quantities to produce explosive or ignitable mixtures.

  • Zone 20 - An area where combustible dusts or ignitable fibers are suspended in the air continuously or for long periods of time.
  • Zone 21 - An area where combustible dusts or ignitable fibers are likely to be suspended in the air under normal operating conditions.
  • Zone 22 - An area where combustible dusts or ignitable fibers are, under normal operating conditions, not likely to be suspended in the air and do so for only a short period of time.

Telemecanique Sensors offers various ranges of Sensors that are ATEX and IECEx certified for use in all Zone 21 or Zone 22 applications. These hazardous area certified products include limit switches XC series, pressure control sensors XM series, inductive proximity sensors XS series, emergency stop cable pull switches and safety switches.

 

Telemecanique Sensors Safety Interlock Switches

The XCS line of Safety Interlock Switches from Telemecanique Sensors is one of the most comprehensive range of industrial safety switches on the market, providing several options for most machine applications.

Some XCS Safety Interlock Switches protect machine operators by stopping the machine when the guard or door opens, withdrawing the actuator attached to the machine guard from the head of the switch.

  • For heavy duty industrial machines with quick rundown time, key operated switches XCSA, XCSB, or XCSC are ideal.
  • For heavy duty industrial machines with slow rundown time, key operated switches with solenoid such as XCSLF or XCSE are ideal.
  • For light industrial machines with quick rundown time, key operated switches XCSMP, XCSPA, or XCSTA are good fits.
  • For light industrial machines with slow rundown time, key operated switches with solenoid such as XCSLE or XCSTE will work.

Other XCS Safety Interlock Switches protect operators by stopping the light industrial machine with quick rundown time when:

  • The operating lever attached to the hinged machine guard is displaced by 5° (XCSPL or XCSTL safety switches)
  • The guard hinge rotates through (XCSPR or XCSTR safety switches)
  • The gate with imprecise guidance and/or subject to frequent washing is opened (XCSDMC, XCSDMP, or XCSDMR coded magnetic switches or XCSDM3 or XCSDM4 coded magnetic systems, complete devices including both coded magnetic and safety modules
